Admissions Process for Grades 1-5
The Lower School program is an academically rigorous yet child-centered program, rich in content and committed to the learning process. Our faculty also works as a team to meet the needs of students as individual learners and to stimulate a lifelong love of learning. Admissions for first through fifth grade is a selective system dependent upon prior school records, teacher recommendations, evaluation of a student’s campus visit, and scoring on CSN assessments.
Contact the Admissions Office to arrange a tour of the school which will take about one hour.
Submit a completed application form with a non-refundable $100 application fee, one recent photo, and one copy of the student’s birth certificate.
Submit the Request for Release of Student Records form to your child’s school. These documents must be sent directly from your child’s current school to the CSN Admissions Office no earlier than November 14. (Depending on your child’s grade, CSN requires the current grade to date, as well as the past 2 years of transcripts and testing results.)
Submit the Teacher Recommendation form to your child’s school and request it be mailed directly to the CSN Admissions Office prior to your child’s visit to CSN for his or her assessment.
Arrange a “Shadow Day” with the Admissions Office for your child to visit in the classroom. Age appropriate assessments will be conducted on that day in reading and mathematics.
