August 5, 2020 Important Message from our Head of School Dear Parents, Colleagues, Students, and Friends,
With just over a week to go before the first day of school for all students, I hope that everyone is making the most of the last few days of summer break. It has certainly been a different kind of summer for all of us. Nonetheless, I do hope that everyone is rested and ready for our return on Monday August 17.
Thank you to those families who have contacted the school with requests to take part in At-Home Learning (AHL) for a period of time. This is a splendid option for all students, and we are delighted to be able to offer it to our CSN Community. Contact your Division Head if you have any questions on how you can take part in AHL. There is also a short video attached to this message which you may find useful.
This Friday, our new Faculty and Staff colleagues begin their formal orientation process at CSN, and next Monday all faculty and staff will be back preparing for the opening day on August 17. I will have details of all our talented new colleagues in the first Seahawk Scoop of the new school year which will be coming to you, as usual, via email on Saturday August 22. Watch out for that, Seahawks.
I would again wish to repeat some important points pertaining to our start of school and our everyday life at CSN for the new school year:
Next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (August 11, 12 and 13), we will be holding a series of virtual divisional parent meetings on Zoom to answer any remaining questions you may have about our new daily routines. Your Division Head will have contacted you with the exact times. If you can make it, I look forward to seeing you then.
My next communication to all parents will be in the first Seahawk Scoop of the new school year on Saturday August 22. My colleagues and I are ready to go back to doing what we all do best: good teaching and learning. I know you are too. It has been a long road since mid-March and I am proud of every one of our students, colleagues and parents for their patience and determination, wisdom and common sense. Far from being our greatest challenge, this could well be our finest hour, Seahawks.
So wash your hands, everyone! Hope to see you on August 17.
Kind regards,
Dr. David Watson Head of School
