Through the study of various traditional and contemporary media the Upper School Art Department's goal is to develop a young artist's technical abilities and personal vision. The CSN visual arts program strives to enhance the student’s creative skills helping them and develop strong personal portfolios. Available courses include: Digital Photography, Printmaking, Drawing and Painting, Advanced Placement Studio Art in both Drawing and Painting, as well as Digital Photography and Art History. The Art department strives to awaken each student’s creative enthusiasm while building skills and confidence in of self-expression, design, and interpretation.  Students' artistic talents are promoted through on-campus and off-campus art exhibitions.

CSN offers many diverse and in-depth opportunities for the study of visual art. All art department teachers are professional artists in their fields and bring unique styles and knowledge to the classroom. Revolving displays of student artwork are scheduled in CSN's Pfeil Art Gallery throughout the school year, always an inspiring example of student creativity.
