Summer Reading

Dear Parents

A big thank you to all for your support of the library throughout the 2021-22 school year!

The library is so very proud of your children and the way they conducted themselves in the library this year. We remember the first week of school when students were so excited and thankful to come into the library and check out books, some selected books based on their fun covers, some to look at the colorful pictures and take home to have read aloud to them, and others to find fun adventures in the titles they selected. Most of our students who started the year as non-readers are now reading, while others are formulating predictions and learning to comprehend what is being read to them.

As we near the end of the year, the students are sad that the book check out has ended. It warms our hearts that the library is such a fun and important part of your child’s lives. The pandemic did not “close the book” on our love of reading, in fact, we have recorded another year of high circulation!!!

Summer vacation is a great time to relax with a good book. We believe reading should be an important part of every child’s summer experience; savoring the wonderful language contained in a good book, enjoying not only the written words but also the beautiful illustrations. Reading gives us all an opportunity to dream, learn and visualize the magic from a good book through literature!

Community School of Naples is committed to helping your child have a positive summer reading experience. In addition to their grade assigned summer reading, we encourage your children to select a book or two from our Library suggested summer reading list. These titles can be found at your Public Library, on Amazon or a local bookstore.

As with any of our library related suggestions, we encourage you to assist in the selection process, as you know what will best meet your child’s needs.

Together, we can give your child the most precious gift - the magical love of reading!

Please be sure to also check out the Collier (https://www.collierlibrary.org ) and Lee County Public Library (https://www.leegov.com/library) summer reading programs,  “"Oceans of Possibilities" which will run June 4th - July 30th. Fun activities and prices are offered through these programs for all that participate.

Wishing you all a healthy, safe summer full of good reading!!!
