Student Reflection on Open Mic Night

On March 25, the CSN chapter of the National English Honor Society hosted another successful Open Mic Night!

The variety of performances, from poems to storytelling to stand-up comedy, all had one thing in common: an unparalleled support system. Here at CSN, students always urge their peers to put themselves out there to showcase the diversity of talents that each individual has to offer. After his saxophone performance, student Max Baker '23 said, “I performed this piece flawlessly in front of a different audience, and it still took them about twenty seconds to start clapping. Here, I messed up ten times, and you guys were clapping before I was even finished.” Because of the warm, supportive student body, thirty seconds could not pass before the next student sprung from their seat, eager to share a skit, musical piece, or even one of Mr. Phimister’s vocabulary assignments. In addition to admiring the skills that CSN students possess, an assortment of beignets and coffee put the cherry on top of a wonderful evening. We cannot wait for the next one!
