Protecting Paradise: A Sixth Grade Midterm Project

Sixth graders had to employ everything they learned their first semester in MS and then some to come up with the goods for their Shark Tank presentations!

Sixth graders have spent the past two weeks busily working on a cross-curricular project.  This year’s theme revolved around environmental concerns for SWFL, and topics ranged from pollution and red tide, to invasive and endangered species.  Working with a partner, students composed a research paper to learn about the problem and developed a service or product to help address the concern.  After creating a budget and producing an effective commercial, the project culminated in student presentations in the G&L Theater where they had to provide a sales pitch to a CSN Shark Tank panel.  All of the student presentations were amazing and scores were very close. The top three Shark Tank presentations for 2021 went to Luke Halcom, Bahiyyah Ostrom, Harold Hoffmann, Matteo Dal Lago, Colton Resop and Alfred “Duke” Shotwell.  A special thank you to our CSN Sharks for donating their time and energy to judging presentations: Mr. Campbell, Mr. Geyer, Mrs. Potocki, and Mrs. Stevens.
