Performing at the Next Level

The CSN class of 2021 has three students continuing their studies at top-ranked performing arts universities.  In addition to the regular admissions requirements, these students had to submit additional essays specific to each college’s program, as well as pre-screened performance videos to each university, before the school would invite them to attend a live audition.  Many of these highly competitive programs have over 5,000 students from around the world sending in pre-screen auditions for very limited spots in these top programs.   Most accept only six to 12 men and women into their freshman classes.  With their chances being only six out of a few thousand, we are happy to report that Panos Dimaras, cellist, auditioned for six top music programs before choosing to attend Ithaca College; Maxine Danni was asked to audition for 11 out of 20 schools before choosing to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point as one of only six women accepted into their B.F.A. Musical Theater program; and Zack Danni, having auditioned for the top three universities in comedy, was accepted into Columbia College Chicago’s #1-ranked B.A. in Comedy Writing and Performance program.  This is no small accomplishment, and reflects the quality of the music and theater programs at CSN, offering top-notch training for students who wish to pursue the performing arts.  Just ask Paige Miles ‘04, American Idol top 11 finalist in Season 9; Joanna Harmon ‘04, actress and theater owner; Alex Rich ‘06, television and film actor; Kellie Cullinan ‘06, opera singer and performer; Jeremy Goodman '07, music director, composer and arranger in New York City; Kayley Stevens ‘09, dancer and choreographer in New York City; Noah Samotin ’13, producer with the Weissler organization; and Toni-Ann Singh '15, singer and Miss World.  Take a bow, seniors and alumni alike!
