Making Beautiful Music

The US String Orchestra gave their Spring Concert on April 20 in the FH to an enthusiastic reception from the students and faculty in attendance. The program included a technically challenging Prelude from Edvard Grieg's Holberg Suite, the heart-touching theme from Schindler's List by John Williams, the great Kol Nidre by Max Bruch, a Phantom of the Opera for cello octet, and My Shot from the Broadway hit show "Hamilton." The standing ovations after senior Panos Dimaras' impressive performance of Kol Nidre and the exciting cello octet version of the popular Phantom medley were well-deserved, and each and every one of the students should feel tremendous pride for a job well done. Bravissimo to you all!

Special recognition to another soloist, Elad Yitzhak '23, for his excellent playing of Schindler's List, and special thanks to our pianist Sonia Patel '24 and percussionist Max Goldberg '23 for their beautiful and passionate talents.

This is the final concert for the school year, so we bid a fond farewell to seniors Inna Kuznetsova, Amit Yitzhak, Simon Weardon, and Panos Dimaras. Best of luck in your journey forward. We will miss you, and the beautiful music you have performed together!
