Local Author/CSN Partnership

Local author Susan Levine and her beautiful book, Jenny’s First Catch, have made quite an impression at CSN.

Mrs. Levine first visited our campus via Zoom last year to share “Jenny” with 3rd grade classes. More recently, Mrs. Levine visited the US class on Climate Leadership and Ocean Stewardship where she shared the research, editing, and backstory of Jenny, the roseate spoonbill. Now those students will read the book and teach a lesson on shorebirds to students in grades PreK3-2. Coincidentally, Mrs. Levine was doing a book signing at Rookery Bay while a group of CSN teachers, students, and parents were visiting for a community cleanup. She chatted with our students and signed copies of the book.
