HOSA Win

Caroline Guerra ’23 won 3rd place in Medical Assisting at the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) State Leadership Conference recently held in Orlando.

After placing 3rd in the state, Caroline Guerra ’23 will now advance to the International Leadership Conference held in Nashville in June.  This is an amazing win considering that many of the competing schools have medical magnet programs and full practice clinics.  In addition to this stellar achievement, CSN also won the Largest New Chapter in the state!

HOSA offers exploration and competition throughout a variety of talents and interests.  Students compete through presentations, portfolios, knowledge tests, and practicums.  Although nearly half of the 43 students in our chapter moved onto the State level this year, only 10 were able to attend as the competition took place over Spring Break.  These extraordinarily dedicated students are:

  •   Anya Brenner ‘24 – Cultural Diversity and Disparities in Healthcare.
  •   Sophia Korunda ‘25 – Medical Spelling
  •   Peter Barakett ‘24 – Family Medical Physician
  •   Zach Dahlquist ‘24 – Family Medical Physician
  •   Eva Bessette ‘23 – Medical Reading
  •   Felicie Hoffmann ‘24 and Amaya Etcheverry ’24 (Team) - Emergency Medical Technician
  •   Ping Redmond ‘24 – Pathophysiology
  •   Jong Redmond ‘24 – Behavioral Health
  •   Caroline Guerra ‘23 – Medical Assisting
