Grandparents and Special Friends Welcomed

As if it were not exciting enough for CSN to celebrate our 40th anniversary, the following day was Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day!  Click here for a taste of the day.

The day began with a busier-than-usual breakfast in our Dining Hall before our guests gathered in the MAC for a special presentation.  Dr. Watson welcomed them by saying, “We look forward to this day every year, and if you traveled here from out of town, we are especially grateful to you for being here with us this morning.”  Then the children in Kindergarten and 1st grade sang for those assembled before a showing of the school’s 40th anniversary video.

It was now time for classroom visits so our guests could get a taste of what the students do every day.  Some grandparents went to the Shea Amphitheater to hear the LS Chorus sing, while others headed towards the MS courtyard for an MS Orchestra performance.  Some visitors preferred to head to the library to dedicate books in their grandchildren’s names.  There was also a robotics demonstration just outside, which always amazes elders who never imagined children could build and control robots!

After a busy morning, lunch was served to those who decided to eat on campus.  For all, it was just the beginning of a lovely family weekend!
