CSN Student Named a Top Scientist

The Regeneron Science Talent Search scholars were selected from 1,804 applications received from 603 high schools across 46 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and eight other countries. Scholars were chosen based on their exceptional research skills, commitment to academics, innovative thinking and promise as scientists as demonstrated through the submission of their original, independent research projects, essays and recommendation.

Society for Science just announced the top 300 scholars in the 81st annual Regeneron Science Talent Search, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors. CSN's own Heloise Hoffmann has learned that she is one of only about a dozen who made the cut from Florida. She could hardly contain her excitement as she told her teachers and Dr. Watson, who replied, “The levels of sheer imagination, organization and creativity which you have brought to this project have been truly inspirational. And what a wonderful result! I am very proud of your momentous academic achievement.” Heloise stated, “Mrs. Lewton and Dr. Scherff were hugely influential in fueling my passion for research and science and guiding me through my research endeavors.”
