In January, a group of sophomores (Rocco DiDonato, David Galotto, Jack McGrail, and Pierce Taylor) created a new Investment Club which meets every week to talk current events, learn investment terminology, and hear from guest speakers. The club has been a big hit with many students, each of whom have been tracking their virtual portfolios all semester. Two of these students, David and Pierce, decided to take things a step further and enter the Stock Market Challenge hosted by the Florida Council on Economic Education. Given a virtual $100,000 to invest from January to April, over 3300 portfolios competed. Out of all these entries, CSN had two in the top five, taking 3rd and 5th place in the entire state! Additionally, within the South Florida region, CSN’s team ranked 1st! Congratulations to both students and the entire club, which is looking forward to having even more students participate next year.
