Recently, CSN’s Choral Director, Mrs. Rebecca Richardson, was presented with a Lake Michigan Credit Union’s (LMCU) grant as a part of their Roots in Education Program. This program recognizes educators for their meaningful contribution and is designed for those who demonstrate a positive impact on their students and school community.

Rebecca’s nomination letter was impressive and represented her true teaching spirit. In the letter, she is said to be “magical in a very ‘Mary Poppins’ sense.” Rebecca is recognized for her teaching style, where she shows that music is about communication, connecting, and being social. Students feel empowered as they enjoy many opportunities to share with others. She works with her students to put on the most beautiful concerts in many different settings. Her involvement is not limited to music instruction, as she also works with the students to create beautiful backdrops and design costumes, highlighting her students in an innovative manner. Her flexibility and enthusiasm can be seen as she helps unfold the talents of each student through self-realization and works diligently on their creative skills. Congratulations Rebecca!
