2021 Athletic Awards

On Wednesday, CSN held their first-ever daytime US Athletic Awards, when the whole US and invited parents were treated to a sunny morning in the John N. Allen Family Stadium.   Col. Weiss began by reminding all in attendance that this year in athletics was particularly challenging due to COVID protocols.  Thanks to the patience and support of the faculty, coaches, and parents, our student-athletes were able to succeed in their endeavors and participate in about 600 events, including Varsity, JV, and MS.  Here are some statistics summarizing the year:

  • Triple Crown winners are those that earn three or more Varsity letters in a year.  This year there were two students with four sports in one year.
  • Scholar-athlete winners maintained an unweighted GPA of 3.75 or higher.  This year there were two students with perfect 4.0 GPAs.
  • Of the 17 sports that can compete for District Championships, CSN won 11 this year.
  • Seven teams made it to Regional Semifinals.
  • Four teams were in Regional Finals.
  • CSN earned one Regional Championship.
  • Three teams went all the way to States: girls and boys golf, and girls tennis.
  • Girls Tennis finished 2nd in the State, with our oldest girl player as 10th grade, the rest are two 9th graders, one 8th grader, and one 7th grader.
  • History-making year:  1st time with 11 District Championships; 1st time both girls and boys golf went to States in the same season; 1st ever lacrosse District Championship since our program started in 1998; 1st football Regional Final game since the program started 11 years ago; 1st time in a decade in which baseball and softball made it to the District Finals in the same year.
  • Nine new CSN records in swim/dive and track & field.

A huge congrats to all our outstanding student-athletes!  GO SEAHAWKS!!
