Congratulations to Megan D'Souza for earning 1st place honors among all Florida 8th graders in this year's Florida Math League contest. Megan's near perfect score of 34 out of 35 possible points is the highest score in the state!
Eighth graders Melita D'Souza and Julian Miller posted the 2nd highest score for the 8th grade division, 33 out of 35 possible points. Howard Gleason contributed an impressive score of 29 points, and Cole Dickson and Cal Wyatt tied with 25 points. These top five scores combined for a team score of 154 points. This is the 3rd highest 8th grade team score in Florida. Our 8th grade team also earned 1stplace in the region, including Broward, Collier, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach, ahead of the team from American Heritage School, which earned 2nd place.
Seventh grader Mimi Goldberg earned the 5th highest score in the 7th grade division in Florida, 30 out of 35 points! Mimi's 30 points were added to high scores by Sachin Nanavati (26), Hanna Hagenbuckle (25), Suran Rao (25), and Julia Salm (25) for a team score of 131 points. This is the 4th highest 7th grade team score in the state. Our 7th grade team also earned 1st place in the region, ahead of the team from American Heritage School, which earned 2nd place.
The 6th grade effort was led by strong performances by course accelerated 5th grader Ben Cunningham (24 pts) and 6th grader Theo Tholt (20 pts). Well done to all!
