Position Description and Requirements
Community School of Naples, an independent, college preparatory school, is currently seeking an experienced elementary educator to teach grades 4th & 5th Science and STEM/Innovation in a hands-on, inquiry and project-based learning environment. As part of the Lower School team and as co-teacher of STEM/Innovation for grades 4th and 5th, the candidate will have experience in backward design, designing inquiry-based curriculum, implementation of STEM/Innovation integrated units, and utilizing a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of all learners. Experience with VEX robotics is a plus as well as experience in planning and overseeing Science based field trips. Additional experience with school based science fairs and the Thomas A. Edison Festival of Light Regional Inventors Fair is also highly desirable.
Qualified candidates will have proficiency in technology, including the use of iPads and Apple computers in innovative teaching practices. A strong interest in developing 21st century learners, demonstrated communication skills, and collaborating well with colleagues are key to success in this position.
Candidates must possess a BA or BS in elementary education or demonstrate significant course work in one of the above areas. Qualified candidates will have 3-5 years prior classroom teaching experience. A Master’s degree in an area of science or the field of education is preferred, but not required.

This appointment is for the 2021/2022 academic year starting with orientation on August 6, 2021, and is paid on an annual salary commensurate with experience, degree attainment, and qualifications. Position Description & Requirements
Community School of Naples, an independent, college preparatory school, is currently seeking a full-time Lower School Spanish teacher who is skilled in teaching Spanish to lower school children in a proficiency-based environment. The appointment begins August 6, 2021. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of teaching Spanish at the elementary school level, or a Master’s Degree and one year of teaching, preferably in an Independent School. Experience teaching in the target language at least 90% of the time and using ACTFL proficiency standards, along with proficiency-based assessments, is preferred.
Essential elements of the school’s educational program include a comprehensive curriculum, a gifted faculty and a low student-faculty ratio. These elements ensure that each student experiences a challenging education that only an independent, college preparatory school can provide. CSN is accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools.

Although we welcome inquiries throughout the year, typically instructional vacancies are identified in late winter and posted on this website. A few requisite qualifications for faculty appointments are:
- Teachers are required to hold at least a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally-accredited institution of higher learning, with a majority of coursework in the subject they wish to teach.
- Transcripts from all degree programs will be requested as part of the hiring process.
- Previous teaching experience is expected, but can be supplemented by advanced degrees, overseas or college-level teaching experience. All applicable experience will need to be verifiable through the associated organizations.
- A demonstrated record of civic-mindedness, professionalism and integrity is essential. As such, CSN requires all employees, including substitute teachers and coaches, to undergo a thorough background check prior to employment. This background check is a criminal records check, in addition to reference and employment verification.
