The Community School of Naples is comprised of five divisions: the
Early Childhood,
Primary,
Intermediate,
Middle and
Upper Schools. The rigorous, teacher-designed curriculum, presented by a talented and dedicated
faculty, is designed to be a
continuum of growth in both knowledge and appreciation for learning. Five core subjects act as the curriculum's base – math, reading, writing, science and the humanities. All students also take courses in computer science, performing and fine arts, foreign language, physical education and research skills. A school-wide
character education program is woven throughout each division's curriculum.
Electives begin in Intermediate School and continue in Middle and Upper School. Offerings include instrumental ensembles, art sampler, ceramics, chorus, photography, drama and much more. Beginning in eighth grade, students may participate in MATHCOUNTS and Mu Alpha Theta, and
community service is required of each student. Upper School students choose from an array of
co-curricular activities such as Model UN, Mock Trial and foreign language competitions.
The study of
visual art,
music and
theatre is a vital component of any well-rounded education. Through the arts, children develop an aesthetic sense and appreciation that will enrich all areas of their lives and further enhance a passion for lifelong learning.
